Do not try to "balance" a modern home by adding lighting to the other side. The architect was intentional about the asymmetry. Your job is to reinforce it, not correct it.

However, when symmetric elements exist (matching window bays, parallel roof planes, centered entry), the lighting must be exactly symmetric. Measure from center points. Match light counts left and right. An off-by-one bulb or a 2-inch misalignment between sides is detectable and undermines the precision that defines the style.

Unlike other styles where the technology is hidden, modern minimalist can make the technology visible -- or at least its effects. Smart home integration, app-based control, and programmable sequences are selling points for this demographic.
